The Apparatus of Jokaryn
The warforged are both an old and a new race to Jokaryn. In truth, nobody knows who built them originally, but the Dwarven and Gnomish Articifers of the Rivenlands recently discovered a way to reanimate them, granting the race of metal and wood life once again. Though no warforged remember who created them, or when, they have gained sentience and now seek to forge a name for themselves in this world. Some warforged choose to remain in the Rivenlands, living alongside the Dwarves and Gnomes and helping to uncover the mysteries of their origin, whilst others head out into the world alone, hoping to discover their own path. No two warforged look the same, and whilst some are hulking constructs of metal, others are lithe figures crafted of exotic wood and filigree. Others still were designed to be tacticians and have finely crafted minds.
Not all warforged were built to be hulking fighting machines, and so the following homebrew changes to the race (from the Eberron suppliment) have been made to add three subraces specific to Jokaryn.
As a warforged, you have the following racial traits.
Ability Score Increase: Your Constitution score increases by 2.
Size: Warforged are generally medium size, though can be bulky or lithe.
Composite Plating: Your construction incorporates wood and metal, granting you a +1 bonus to Armor Class.
Speed: 30 feet
Living Construct: Even though you were constructed, you are a living creature. You are immune to disease. You do not need to eat or breathe, but you can ingest food and drink if you wish. Instead of sleeping, you enter an inactive state for 4 hours each day. You do not dream in this state; you are fully aware of your surroundings and notice approaching enemies and other events as normal.
Languages: You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language of your choice.
Subraces: The original purposes of warforged were varied, though since being reawakened, they can choose any path they wish in life.
Sturdy models originally built to break and hold battlefield lines
Ability Score Increase: Your Strength score increases by 1.
Iron resolve: You have advantage on saving throws made against being frightened.
The Scout model is quicker, lighter and quieter. Originally built for infiltrating enemy ranks
Ability Score Increase: Your Dexterity score increases by 1.
Well-Oiled Machine: You cannot be detected by scent, and all Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing to detect you are made with disadvantage.
The tactician models were originally built with increased faculties to direct battlefield maneuvers
Ability Score Increase: Your Intelligence score increases by 1.
Runs like Clockwork: You gain the Guidance cantrip.
